Summary
A list of keyboard shortcuts you can use within Canvas for Windows and Mac.
Canvas keyboard shortcuts for Windows:
- Ctrl+C: Copy selected content. (Ctrl+C can also abort commands)
- Ctrl+V: Paste copied content.
- Ctrl+Shift + V: Paste unformatted content.
- Ctrl+X: Delete and copy selected content. (good for moving text, files, etc.)
- Ctrl+A: Select all available content in focus.
- Ctrl+Z: Undo the previous action.
- Ctrl+Y: Redo the previous action.
- Ctrl+S: Save what you’re working on.
- Ctrl+O: Open a new file.
- Ctrl+P: Open the print dialog box.
- Ctrl+F: Open the search tool to find something on the page.
- Ctrl+R: Refresh the contents on the screen. (only F5 works in some cases)
- Alt+F4: Close the active program.
- F11: Enter full-screen mode.
- Esc: Stop or close a prompt or process.
Canvas keyboard shortcuts for Mac:
- Cmd+C: Copy selected content.
- Cmd+V: Paste copied content.
- Cmd+Shift+Opt+V: Paste unformatted content.
- Cmd+X: Cut (copy and delete) selected content. (Good for moving content from one place to another)
- Cmd+A: Select all available content in focus.
- Cmd+Z: Undo the previous action.
- Cmd+Y: Redo the previous action. Can also be: Cmd+Shift+Z
- Cmd+S: Save what you’re working on.
- Cmd+Shift+S: Save As. Save the current file with a new name and/or location.
- Cmd+O: Open a new file.
- Cmd+P: Open the print dialog box.
- Cmd+F: Open the search tool to find something on the page.
- Cmd+G: Find again. Find the next occurence of the item previously found.
- Cmd+R: Refresh the contents on the screen. (only F5 works in some cases)
- Cmd+Q: Quit the active program.
- Ctrl+Cmd+F: Enter full-screen mode.
- Esc: Stop, close, or escape a prompt or process.
