Summary
Submit a request to delete an assignment submitted to Canvas. Requests for deletion will be processed for approval and are constrained by both state law and college policy.
In most cases, State law requires submitted assignments to retained for at least one quarter after final grade has been given, excluding Summer Quarter (WA CTC Records Retention Schedule v. 2.1). Requests to delete assignments will not be able to be made prior to this point. Some submissions to canvas may be subject to a longer retention period (https://www2.sos.wa.gov/_assets/archives/recordsmanagement/community-and-technical-colleges-records-retention-schedule-v.2.1-(december-2022).pdf).
Submitting a request to delete an assignment may also be rejected if there is evidence of the request being for malicious purposes or if there are ongoing grade disputes for the assignment(s) in question.
Note: any request to delete an assignment from Canvas will also impact your ability to dispute the final grade of the assignment in the future.
