Summary
This Knowledge Base (KB) article will explain how to enable the automatic stapling feature possible with some of the canon copiers on campus.
Note: Stapling is not possible on all canon copiers and is currently only possible for Windows devices. Please see a list of copiers by location that have stapling enabled. Windows:
Part 1: Enabling the stapling function for the copier
- Open Settings on your computer
- Click "Bluetooth & devices"
- Click "Printers & scanners"
- Select either Copier-BW or Copier-Color
- Click "Printer properties"
- In the window that opens, click the "Device Settings" tab
- Scroll to the bottom, under "Installable Options"
- Click on "Staple Unit:" and change it to "Installed", then click "OK"
Part 2: Selecting if you want a document to be stapled
- When printing a document you want stapled, click "Printer Properties" or "Preferences" from that applications print menu
- In the window that appears, click on "Advanced"
- Under "Printer Features", click on "Stapling" and change it to the position you want the staple to go
- Click "OK" on that window, then click "OK" on the next window to go back to the print menu
- Make any other changes you need for your print job, then click "Print"
