How To Get Website Training and Request Site Manager Access

Summary

How to get trained as website manager and request access to edit one or more areas of the public-facing Bellevue College website.

Step 1: Which Type of Website

The training and request process is a little different depending on which part of the Bellevue College website you would like to manage. The first step is to identify which type of website you will be working with.

The 'Core' Site

The Bellevue College core site can be identified visually by the large Bellevue College logo in the upper right corner. It also doesn't list a specific department name in the header. Here is an example:

Modern 'Department Sites'

Modern (redesigned) department sites look a lot like the core site, but the logo is a little smaller, and the department name is listed prominently in the header. Here is an example:

Header of modern department site, showing site title (Achieving the Dream) and smaller logo

Legacy 'Department Sites'

Legacy (non-redesigned) department sites use an older design. You can identify them visually by the small, dark blue border header containing the logo. Here is an example:

If you need assistance identifying which type of site you are working with, please let us know!

Step 2: Take the Training

Save your final certificate from completing the whole program- you'll need it when requesting access!

Step 3: Request Access

  • For the Core Site, submit a Core Site access Request. It will be routed to the area administrator for approval automatically.
  • For either Legacy or Modern Department Sites, please have the area dean or an existing website manager submit a Department Site Access Request on your behalf.
